Raising the roof

To “raise the roof” means to celebrate, and even shout.  That’s what we are doing here at our old farmhouse as we take one more step to completion.  We have raised the roof or more specifically, raised the ceiling!  We are changing the original design by opening up the ceiling instead of sheetrocking the ceiling attic space.  That change will give a brighter, open feel.  This task is far from easy.  It’s extremely time-consuming and dangerous work in my opinion. None the less, its getting done and the finished outcome will be so rewarding.

This has been one of the more challenging projects regarding the shiplap installation.

Soon to come will be the wrapping of the ceiling joists, installing trim, paint, and adding the ceiling fan.

Thanks for the encouragement. It’s been a great project but we are feeling glad to be toward the final stretch. But there will always be projects. You know how that goes. We’d love to show it to you in person if your in the area.
