    Sweet and Spicy

    Here is a preview of our new exterior paint. The trim color is called “bit of sugar”…sweet. The main house color is “peppercorn”…spicy This is only a preview because it is not finished yet.  We felt the need to get as much done as possible regarding exterior painting before the weather stifled progress, therefore; we had the exterior painted while we are still working on the porch.     Rain, rain, go away…

    Remember that simple little song “rain, rain, go away, come again another day….”  That is a very old song that many of us remember from childhood.   That silly old rhyme comes to mind as we are waiting to get our exterior paint completed. Historically, this time of year there is typically only 20% chance of rainfall.  Why does it seem like that 20% is all summed within the days we want to paint our house?     Old is new again

    “Sooner or later everything old is new again”, quoting Stephen King. I am not a Stephen King fan. That’s not to say that he is not a good writer.  From what I am told, his writing is finely crafted. It is his genre that does not appeal to me, more specifically it scares me. There are a couple of people in my family who read all his work. That is how I have come to know his quote “sooner or later everything old is new again”.   For this old house, we are reviving what was left abandoned and neglected.  We are making the old new again.  One of many steps…
