    Give me a break!

    That term “give me a break” typically has a connotation of frustration or disbelief. Not this time, this time it’s meant literally.  “Every person needs to take one day away.  A day in which one conscientiously separates the past from the future.  …..     My thoughts are flooded with thankfulness

    Yep!  FLOODED!  The trim finishing came to a screeching halt when our basement almost became a swimming pool. Swimming is great, BUT NOT in our basement! When I got home on Tuesday, the two-inch hose draped across the driveway was the first sign that Paul did not have a great day. When he greeted me he said, “well, I’ve had better days”.  His exhausted comment meant that he had not made the progress planned for that day because he spent his time pumping water from the basement.  Gallons of water rushed through our basement floor via hydrostatic pressure.  A bit of backstory of our basement…..there was about half an inch…

    I have a new fan

    Paul is my fan, I’m his fan too. We thank all of you who have been following our blog and staying interested and supportive in our process. We are so pleasantly surprised to have 7000+ views. Thanks for being fans of our blog. Now, we have a new fan.  Our new fan is tall, dark, and very handsome…..which is our ceiling fan. The fan not only looks great but it will also help to circulate cool air in the summer and warmth from our wood-burning stove in the winter.
